HONEYSUCKLE
A Waldorf-inspired place for little people to gather.
A sacred space for creative play.
We are a Waldorf-inspired children’s community. We spend our time together baking, gardening, singing, art making, and playing.

Now Offering - Drop In Day
The first Saturday of each month I am offering an opportunity for parents to have a break while their little ones engage in enriching, Waldorf-inspired activities and play.
Enjoy a hike, go out to lunch, or get some home projects done without little ones underfoot.
9am-2:00pm | Ages 1-4 | $65 | First Saturdays
We are creatures of rhythm. Our hearts beat, our blood pulses, and our lungs move to a steady rhythm. We nourish children in their healthy development by being mindful of a young child’s need for rhythm and offering them the comfort of knowing what comes next as we move through our days, weeks, and years.
Names of the days of the week are a meaningless abstraction for young children, but children in Waldorf environments quickly come to know that soup day is followed by millet day. They may not be able to tell you it’s Thursday but they can tell you it’s bread day and that bread day is orange day and they get to wear their orange shirt. They know that on millet day we paint and soup day we chop vegetables.
It is all part of the Rhythm of the Week and creating comfort and safety for our children.
Each day we have our activities and snacks to rely on, but children are welcome to use play time for useful work. For example, on soup day, any child that wants to help chop vegetables to prepare our soup snack is welcome to. Sometimes we may do yoga, decide to build fairy houses, or observe mini beasts crawling into the bug hotel.

Perfect for families with young children that just want 1 day of nourishing play time for their little ones while mamas have a break and can care for themselves.
Honeysuckle started in September of 2023 after years of feeling called to create a slow and nurturing space for little ones to gather. I am a homeschool mother of three and I’ve worked with children for the last 28 years. Connecting with and creating magical experiences for children (and adults) is a calling. Maintaining a sense of wonder and imagination is deeply important to me and we do that through creating a magical and welcoming environment that considers the children’s sensory experience of the world.
Waldorf philosophy is a holistic learning style aimed at nurturing the whole human through art, practical work, and fostering imagination and creativity.
I know very well how difficult young parenthood can be and how important it is to have support. My intention is to help support parents in giving their children nourishing experiences where parents and children can build meaningful relationships with families who share similar values.
What to expect:
-Though not religious or subscribing to any one one spiritual path - speaking about spiritual life is a natural part of life on earth and therefore will not be avoided in conversation. Whether that’s children being encouraged to trust their instincts, to listen to messages from plants and animals, meditation, or talking about what God means to different people. Talk about the magical realms of fairies and gnomes, and spiritual life is alive here.
-Children should not be walking advertisements for brands and media characters. In following a typical Waldorf schools dress code, and to avoid distractions, children need to wear clothing without characters, logos, or writing. Shoes should not light up, be appropriate for outdoor play.
-The celebration of festivals is an important part of Waldorf education. Throughout history, festivals have emerged from people’s connection with their spiritual life and their search for the meaning of human existence. The celebrations are interwoven with the life of the earth and the cycles of nature. The below festivals will take place outside of our normal gathering times and the whole family is invited to participate! We will celebrate other festival days in smaller ways when we meet and celebrate each child’s birthday when it comes around.
